A well known place among UCR students for carne asada fries. It comes in HUGE portions with a generous amount of carne asada on top, and has always been consistent in quality during the last 5 years I have been in the area. Perfect for satisfying those late night munchies. A full order can also be easily shared by 2-4 people, depending on your appetite.
The salsa bar inside has a nice selection of different salsas as well. Don't miss out on the pickled carrots and veggies though; delicious and can add a nice kick to your meal!
As for the other menu items, nothing else really stood out to me. The burritos and quesadillas are good, but noticeably much greasier compared to those from other nearby Mexican restaurants. So if you're looking for those, I'd go else where. But you really can never go wrong with their carne asada fries; worthy of being your cheat meal! -

I've gone to this restaurant on a few occasions, and I've never been completely satisfied. Yesterday, I went to pick up food from here because my friend wanted to eat there. I decided, against my better judgment, to order something for myself since I was already there. I ordered a fish burrito, and when I got it home, I realized the fish had been sitting out for however long. The fish was extremely crunchy (and difficult to chew) around the edges, it wasn't hot (my friend's tacos were still too hot to eat after I drove 10-12 minutes to get them to her), and the burrito didn't have much flavor.
My friend also ordered a Sprite, but the closest thing was Sierra Mist. When I took it to my friend, she told me it didn't taste like soda. I tried it, and it was barely carbonated and tasted like water with a few squirts of lime juice in it.
After yesterday's experience, I'm never going back to this place. It's always a waste of my time and money. -

I just do not get why this place is so highly rated on Yelp. Honestly, after the second visit I wondered why I didn't just go to Del Taco.
The chicken monster burrito, which many of my fellow Yelpers here have raved about, was truly mediocre. Painfully salty, filled with lettuce that tasted processed and stale, and overflowing in fatty and cheap tasting chicken... disappointing at a price where you'd expect better.
When I came back later for the much-trumpeted carne asada fries, I came away similarly dispirited: the fries were soggy, lacking in much flavor other than oil, and drizzled in something green that could have been guacamole but tasted more akin to paste.
But, at the least, the service was fast and the portions are massive. -

Came here for lunch and I can say that this isn't my favorite place for tacos. It seems like they overcharged me for 4 tacos. How in the world is 4 tacos, $14???? Besides the prices, the quality of these tacos are no where close to being that expensive. Overall, I would never come back here ever again. Not a great place since they seem to take advantage of new customers.

This was my second time here and it was okay, due to the inconsistent quality of the food. Both times I was here, I ordered the full order of Carne Asada Fries and dined in. It's a large portion and great to split amongst two people. They have a salsa bar with various salsas and you can pick and choose which one you want. I like that feature because you don't have to go up to the cashier and ask them for which sauce you want. Out of the 4 salsas I tried, I only liked one (it was a darker green color). The only con about the salsa bar is that everyone is exposed to it and it can get contaminated. I'm only bringing this up because after I got my sauces, I saw a man getting his sauces and he literally coughed right into it...
Anyways, my first experience was good, the meat was great along with all the toppings but the fries were a little soggy. All the flavor was there and I would have easily rated the fries 4 stars! The ingredients tasted fresh and the meat tasted like it was just grilled and placed over the fries.
During my second experience, the fries were really crispy, my favorite! But as I dove into the dish, I realized that there was a lot of tiny broken pieces, kinda like when you get to the end of your bag of chips and it's all crumbs. That was basically half the portion of the fries, it was a bummer to me because I was really excited for my fries. But the same great flavor of the toppings and meat were on point.
I would still come here again, but maybe next time I would try their burrito, since they were consistent with the meat and toppings for both times I was here.
